On saturday morning we received an email from a friend we didn't know we had. It helped us write this mission statement:

ある土曜日の朝、誰か知らない奴からメールがきた。後にこのメールが俺らに次のミッションを掲げさせることとなる。

We took inspiration from it, so I wanted to share:

Hi-

My name is [Name Removed], I live in NYC, and I recently purchased your
"fashion weak" shirt. I just wanted to let you know that I think it is
the greatest shirt I've ever seen. I also have gotten tons of
compliments on it.

ハイ！私はXX。今ニューヨークに住んでいます。最近あなた達の会社のサイトから｢ファッションウィーク｣Tシャツを買いました。すっごくお気に入りで、私が今まで見たTシャツの中でも最高のデザイン！友達にもよく羨ましがられます。

One of my best friends is Australian and I saw hr
wearing it, and bought it that same day. I actually love all your
shirts and think you dudes are amazing. But I wanted to tell you a
little story of what happened to me while I was wearing it.

きっかけは私の親友のオーストラリア人。彼女があなた達の会社のTシャツを着てるのを見て、私も迷わず即日買いしちゃいました。サイトにある服どれもかっこよくて、本当にデザイナーを尊敬しています。

だけど実は、このTシャツが発端で、ちょっとした出来事があったのでそれをお伝えしようと今回はメールした次第です。

A few people have called me a pervert, or a freak, whatever, that's
expected... However, I went out with the guy I was dating on tuesday.

まあ、過去にも何回か｢変わってるね｣と言われてきたので、慣れてはいたのですが・・・。

ともかく、ある火曜日私は彼氏とデートに出かけました。

We've been dating for about two months, he works at a fashion magazine
in paris. We went out to a club in nyc, and after about fifteen
minutes of being there he asked me to turn the shirt to the white
side, so that people couldn't see it.

彼とは付き合って二ヶ月くらい。仕事はパリでファッション雑誌の編集をしています。

その日私たちはニューヨークシティーにあるクラブに行きました。入ってしばらくすると、彼はおもむろにこう言いました。

｢そのシャツを脱いで裏返しできてくれないか？皆から見えないように。｣

I was in complete shock so I just stood there. Then he proceeded to rip my shirt off me, in front
of heaps of people, and turn it to the white side and put it back on
me... then he pulled me aside and lectured me for ten minutes about
how offensive and disrespectful it is & He's good friends with Karl etc. etc

私はあまりのショックに声も出ず、思わずフリーズしてしまい思考停止の状態になりました。動こうとしない私を見て、彼は多くの人が周りにいるにもかかわらず無理やりTシャツを脱がすと、さっさと裏返しにして私に着せました。

更に、その後なぜか数十分小言を言われつづけたのです。

And he was just going on for ten minutes about that.

I went to the bathroom changed it back to the karl side, and wore it properly the

rest of the night. Now he isn't speaking to me.

意味不明の説教の後、納得のいかない私はトイレに行きTシャツをもとの正しい表側で着なおしました。すると、その後彼は永遠と私を無視しつづけ、それは今に至っています。

Your shirt made me lose the dude I was sleeping with!
ま、大丈夫なんですけど。ただ、一応このような出来事があったということを報告しとこうと思いました。

But seriously dudes, that fashion weak shirt is the greatest thing I

I love hearing stories of people doing what THEY feel like doing, not acting to impress whoever they are around. People are inspired on this planet by organic alignments that happen ONLY when they are doing what they feel.

人々が、周りの目を気にしてオドオド行動するのではなく、自分の好きなように行動しているって話を聞くのが好きだ。人間は本来自由で、自然体でいる時こそアーティストになりうると僕は思う。

To us, the date described in the email was a demonstration of alignments action.

彼女の話は、この紛れもない事実を証明するひとつの出来事。

If she had not of worn the FASHION WEAK shirt, and had not had this tiff, she may have ended up marrying this guy, never knowing his darker side - the fact that he thinks he can tell others how to act.

もし、彼女がこの日ファッションウィークのTシャツを着ていなかったら、付き合ってる彼氏の本性も知らないまま結婚していたかもしれない。他人に自分の意見を押し付け服従させようとする本性。

And what are the odds that I have his blog in my google reader?

ま、試しに彼のブログでこの出来事がどう説明されてみるか読んでみるのも面白そうだけど。

Art- People being inspired by information, an artist needs to take it into their brain and fuck with it from every angle. Everyone is [has potential to be] an artist acting on their own philosophy. A practicing artist has a form in which they are confident can convey their philosophy (context) to others. Our Art is our life (Pete Versus Toby), and our canvas is our garments.

SO WHO DID WE STEAL FROM? COPY FROM? INSPIRATION?
Lets just start with some good old fashioned name dropping, because as human beings its easist to copy other humans.

まずは、典型的な手法で誰かの名前でもあげてみようか？だって人々にとって猿真似ほど簡単なことは無いからね。

I have to say that Bill Hicks infamous joke about the worst kind of advertising using blatant sexuality (see video below) would have probably shifted us the most.

まずは、ビル・ヒックス。彼がやったエロCMのネタには多分一番強く影響を受けたと言わざるをえないな。（下記動画参照。英語のみ）

デーモの持ってた財布に描かれてたデザイン。陰陽マーク。それにオルカの彫刻を掛け合わせることを考えたんだ。

PVT in Milk...

Thanks to our friend Lolita at Bauhaus for sending these clippings from Milk magazine in Hong Kong... I like the way they used the photo of me holding a coke can up for the statue of liberty... and the lad dining bar, well that is pretty much one of the funniest signs i have ever seen.

Ten dayz in Tokyo

Francesca and I spent 10 days in Tokyo, it felt like our honeymoon... here are some phodoz

June 13th was my birthday ("tanjobe des" in Japanese), I decided to walk around Harajuku all day barefoot. This is shnookums and I in the Bape store...

For my birthday we went to this traditional resturant in Harajuku, it was ridiculous


This is Uniqlo's T-shirt store UT, they have shirts in capsules, pretty tweaked. Modular Records have all their artists shirts in these shops, so big propz to Pav and the lads at Modular...

Odaiba is a man made island/playground in the middle of Tokyo bay, it also has a replica of the Statue of Liberty. If I photoshop myself out of this its a good collage

This is Raddlounge, our agents for Japan. This is me probably showing Hiroshi some chopped and screwed beats on my pod...

this is Takuto from Raddlounge, he took Francesca and I out to lunch on our first day. He loves Japanese food and making us laugh... what a lad

Iriki and Tatsuya invited us to come along to an exhibition. This is us with the lads from Kiks Tyo, Im not even a big sneakerhead but I kind of think these guys are ripping with their oldschool colourways... the exhibition was showcasing their new season plus an upcoming Japanese graphic designer Quolomo.


This is the first Streetwear store in Harajuju. SWG (swagger) downstairs and Phenomenon upstairs. They stock brands like Cassette Playa and hopefully PVT soon...

next up we walked to the famous Heights streetwear store in Harajuku. this is the entrance... pyramid doors so skitzy
